About

“A fine beer may be judged
with only one sip,
but it's better to be thoroughly sure.”

I'm no expert.
I just enjoy good beer.

This was a one-year project to document all the different beers I drank from April of 2010 to April of 2011. I will continue to update this periodically, though!

Cheers!

Blue Point Brewing Co. Toxic Sludge Black IPA   Alc/Vol: 7%
This is a limited release and 100% of the proceeds benefit the rescue and care of birds hurt in oil spills. If you know me at all, you know how much I love birds, so this alone is a reason for me to love this beer. If you know my beer tastes at all, you know I love a good IPA and also a good stout. This is a black IPA… Let’s just say this beer tastes like what happens when a stout and an IPA love each other very much. If you’re a fan of either style, definitely grab a pint of this. It’s for the birds.

Blue Point Brewing Co. Hoptical Illusion IPAAlc/Vol: 6.8%
From what I remember, I really liked this. The note I made was “Finally! hops/citrus.” I say finally because I’d been wanting to try this for a while… had it at the bar and I’ll have to get it again and pay closer attention. Hey, at least I’m honest.

Blue Point Brewing Co. Blueberry AleAlc/Vol: 4.6%
I love blueberry ales. This one is really light and refreshing with a crisp, clean fresh blueberry flavor. Not overdone and not too sweet. And it smells AWESOME. Among blueberry ales I’ve tried, I think this might come in second place. First place goes to Ellicottville Brewing Co.’s Blueberry Wheat, which I enjoyed quite a bit of when I spent a summer in western New York about an hour away from the brewery. Anyway, blueberry ales are a nice treat every once in a while, and I’d recommend this one or the EBC one I mentioned if you can find it.
